Star Shift Sci-Fi RPGs
The Star Shift PC games are sci-fi RPGs with turn-based combat and some tactical battles. Developed by “Psychronic Game Studios”—which is pretty much just Douglas Gustafson himself, and was kind of just me and him. Doug is also known as Galacti-Chron, Section31, Psy, etc. I was involved very closely with him as a “close friend” and “game developer partner” thing, until I got laid off in September 2023.
Star Shift Origins can be completed in about five (5) hours to nine (9) hours. Released on November 8th, 2021. Includes a PDF walkthrough and map guide in the game’s folders.
Star Shift Rebellion can be completed in about seven (7) hours to eleven (11) hours. Released on February 9th, 2024.
The standalone release (DRM-free version) of both games are sold exclusively in my shop. I have some involvement with Star Shift Legacy, and my only involvement with Star Shift Freelancers is the release of the official poster.
Star Shift Origins
“Star Shift Origins tells the story of the first crew of the Dauntless. Trapped in an alternate reality and on the run, the crew desperately searches for answers while being hunted by the relentless Earth Systems Alliance (ESA).”
★ STRATEGIC TURN-BASED COMBAT: There are no levels in Star Shift Origins; skills and stat increases are managed by Knowledge Points acquired from battle.

A very wonderful game, I love the sci-fi setting, very dark and cool! I enjoy the gameplay a lot and the skills for every party member. I loved the spaceship tactical battles! Very nice game!
I enjoyed the game a lot, very amazing sci fi graphics, reminds me of Mass Effect but a little darker <3 I enjoyed the strategic battles and the spaceship tactical ones. Very nice!

Good Quality Poster for Star Shift.
The game was fun. It seems to be a prologue to a much larger story. Star Shift Origins tells the story of the first crew of the Dauntless. The story revolves around the crew being trapped in a parallel universe where things went very different than how they remembered. The game is a unique blend of something familiar (retro RPG feeling to it, like Squaresoft games from the 90’s), as well as offering new components such as tactical fleet battles, and tactical army battles. Also the ability to have 7 characters in the party was also unique. The story was cool, the music was awesome! I’ll definitely be looking forward to the next installment in the franchise.
